Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 3, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how STEMA Math Practice (the “Service”), operated by TipTop Academy Inc., which operates STEMA Learning Centre in British Columbia, Canada (“STEMA”, “we”, “us”, “our”), collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our free online math-practice website.

1. Information we collect

  • Parent account details: parent/guardian name, email address, phone number, and password (stored only as a secure one-way hash). Optionally, a mailing address and a profile photo you choose to upload.
  • Child profile details: the child’s first name (or nickname), optional date of birth, and a profile icon. Please avoid entering more personal detail about a child than is needed.
  • Practice activity: which skills a child has practised and their scores, so we can save progress and show green checkmarks.
  • Technical data: basic information your browser sends (such as IP address and cookies) needed to keep you signed in and to operate and secure the Service.

2. How we use your information

  • To create and manage your account and child profiles.
  • To save and display each child’s practice progress.
  • To verify your email address and keep your account secure.
  • To send you Service-related and, where you have agreed, occasional update emails.
  • To operate, maintain, and improve the Service.

3. Children’s privacy

Accounts are created and controlled by a parent or guardian. Child profiles are intended to hold minimal information and exist so a parent can track their own child’s learning. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children, and we do not show third-party advertising to children on the Service.

4. Email communications

When you register, you agree to receive emails from us. These include essential messages (verification, security, and account notices) and occasional news or updates about the Service. You can opt out of non-essential emails at any time by contacting us; essential account emails will still be sent while your account is active.

5. Cookies

We use a small number of cookies that are necessary to keep you signed in and to operate the Service. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles of you or your children.

6. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information only: (a) with trusted service providers who help us run the Service (such as our web host and email delivery), under confidentiality obligations; or (b) where required by law. Our web hosting and email are provided by our hosting provider on our behalf.

7. Data retention

We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, or ask us to delete it, we remove your parent account together with its child profiles and progress data from the Service.

8. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including hashing passwords and restricting access. No online service can be guaranteed to be completely secure, but we work to safeguard your data.

9. Your choices & rights

  • You can view and update your account and child details from your profile page.
  • You can request a copy or deletion of your account information by contacting us.
  • You can opt out of non-essential emails at any time.

10. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, communicated by email.
